The Tokyo Jamii is the only Islamic building in the Turkish Ottoman style among more than 105 Islamic places of worship (mosques = masjids) in Japan, and its majestic pencil-shaped minaret and lead-roofed dome rising above Inokashira Street has become a daily sight in the town of Yoyogi Uehara.
